British Magazine Living Spain Visit Galicia
The editor,Louise Parkin, of Living Spain Magazine,Britain's most popular magazine about Spain will be visiting us,My Destination Galicia and Casascompletas.com this weekend. The magazine recently published an article all about My Destination Galicia - called My Galicia. They will now be doing a special additional feature about Galicia.
We will be taking Louise on a short tour of Galicia which includes visits to Monforte de Lemos,Ribeira Sacra including a stay at the 5-star hotel Palacio de Sober and visits to the local winerys including Bodegas Regina Viarum,Abadía da Cova and Adegas Valcar. This will be followed by a stay at Pazo do Souto near Carballo and a short tour of the coast of death near Malpica.

We have some great news! A Virtual Tour of Ribeira Sacra
My Galicia have been busy touring Ribeira Sacra near Monforte de Lemos taking high quality photographs/Virtual Tours to best promote what the region has to offer. Palacio de Sober , an €8 million investment to recreate a 5-star hotel near Sober has been brought to life - so people can be transported direct to the hotel without moving from home ! Then it's on to Bodegas Regina Viarum whose Expresion was Galician red wine of 2010.The views,peace and beauty are utterly incredible! Then there's time to visit Abadia da Cova winery where Jose Moure creates award-winning wines of a divine quality. Known as the Edge of the World ,the views from his winery are spectacular - soothing on the spirit. My Galicia can take high quality shots of famous vantage points or places as well as helping to promote individual businesses to the whole of the world! This includes the introduction of videos so the best is still to come.

My Galicia in Dubai!
The third My Destination.com conference took place in Dubai from 18- 22 May. My Galicia were present along with 74 other destinations from all corners of the world! There were presentaions about SEO,E-Commerce,product development,sales & multimedia inter alia. The network is set to expand to over 140 websites by the end of the year with over 18 million visits per year! Next years conference will be in the USA.

There are a few issues that travelers should consider when deciding to make a reservation to get no future surprises.

REMAINING PAYMENT: In addition to the prepayment, confirm with the owner how and when to pay the remaining money, because there is a widespread custom among the owners to require the entire amount at your arrival. Specially if you have to pay in cash, it will be convenient to know beforehand.
DATE OF ENTRY AND EXIT: although it seems a simple question but it is very important to clarify what day you check in and what day you check out. Otherwise there can be missunderstandings. For example, if you make a reservation from 1st of august to 8th of august, some people understand that 8th is included and want to leave on 9th of august.
TIME OF ENTRY AND EXIT: Normally check in and check out are at 12:00 but owners may be quite flexible in low-season. In summertime, the houses are usually occupied every day. Therefor the owner will need some time between check-out and check-in of new clientes to clean maintanace, etc. If you have special needs, check them out before your arrival with the owner.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If for any reason you decide to cancel your reservation confirmed with the owner he can require the prepayment as the cancellation fee. Nevertheless, if you cancel with more than one month of anticipation, normally you get your money back, and if you cancel with more than a week of anticipation you normally get 50% of the prepayment back. Contact us in order to talk to the owners if you have any problem.
ADMISSION OF ANIMALS: If you are traveling with pets ask always the owner if they are admitted at the house and in what conditions. Even in houses that are supposed to admit pets, sometimes its not permitted to have them inside the house. Check it out clearly with the owner to avoid future problems

Spanish Wine Fair 2011, Ciudad Real
My Galicia attended the international wine fair in Ciudad Real (FENAVIN) from 10-12 May,the worlds biggest and best. We were asked to lend support to Bodegas Castro Brey , a winery from Vila de Cruces near Santiago de Compostela who were delighted with the amount of business contacts and likely business generated. There are five different wine denominations in Galicia and over 480 bodegas (winerys). FENAVIN also provided My Galicia with an opportunity to talk to a large number of Galician bodegas who were there (over 80) including Marques de Vizhoja, As Laxas,Valtea and Condes de Albarei. Five Galician businesses were also there promoting Galician Orujo (spirits). In total 1200 bodegas attended FENAVIN promoting over 100,000 diffferent wines!!
